Privacy Policy

Photo Status is designed as a local utility for your Photos library. It helps identify items whose original files still need to be downloaded from iCloud Photos.

Local-Only App Behavior

Photo Status does not:

• upload your Photos library.
• copy original photos or videos into the app sandbox.
• send analytics.
• contact a third-party server.
• create a remote account.
• store photo bytes or thumbnails in its own persistent files.

Photos Permission

The app requests Photos read/write authorization because it needs to inspect the visible Photos library and ask the system Photos service to download originals.

• Full access lets the app scan the library returned by Photos.
• Limited access lets the app scan only the subset you selected.
• Denied or restricted access prevents scanning.

Network Boundary

Photo Status does not use its own networking stack for app services. When you start downloads, Photos/iCloud may use network access because the app explicitly asks Photos to fetch originals. That traffic is owned by the system Photos/iCloud service, not by a custom server in Photo Status.

Local Files

The app may persist resumable scan checkpoints, missing-original metadata, download checkpoints, status metrics, timestamps, counts, and failure messages. These files do not include original media bytes.

User-Controlled Cleanup

Photo Status provides a Clear Saved Progress action when saved progress exists and no download is running. This clears saved download progress and failure state.

Terms of Use

By using Photo Status, you agree to use the app only for your own Photos library and in compliance with applicable laws and Apple platform terms.

Local Utility

Photo Status is provided as a local utility to help inspect Photos library original availability and request original downloads through system Photos and iCloud services.

User Responsibility

You are responsible for choosing which items to scan or download, maintaining your own backups, and managing iCloud Photos, device storage, network usage, and Photos permissions.

No Guarantee of Availability

Photo Status depends on Apple Photos, iCloud Photos, device storage, network conditions, and iOS background execution. The app cannot guarantee that every original will be available, downloaded, retained on device, or permanently pinned by the system.
